The views from the two story lofts at 2011 Cedar Springs, built in 2000, are rapidly evolving. Here are views of the new construction, the Ritz Carlton, the Crescent, a two story adapted use residence recently featured in the New York Times, and a distant view of the Perot Museum. President George Bush and Laura Bush Celebrate Home at the Presidential Library This Christmas Season

Christmas Tree in the Bush Presidential Library

The George W. Bush Presidential Library added much to SMU, University Park, Dallas, and Texas. This holiday season there’s an exhibition of the 2001 White House Christmas that has been assembled.

FDR's Christmas House

History, Homes, and Architecture

I love history, homes, and architecture. Combining these passions with the Christmas exhibition is much fun. Replicas of the former Presidents’ homes are displayed with the history and style of each home. One discovers the home presented to Ulysses S. Grant in 1865 cost $2,500. This was approximately the cost of some of the historic Munger Place homes when they were built in 1905, and is a thousand times less expensive than the much more modest home of President Bush in the twenty first century. The homes of these Presidents reflect the period, personality, and resources of the President. This Christmas exhibition is one more reason to visit the George W. Bush Library at SMU.

Artist and Actor Kevin Page Makes Dallas History

Kevin Page was on the original Dallas show that still resonates with people around the world.  Invited back for the current Dallas seasons, Kevin Page took on the role of Bum, J.R. Ewing’s closest friend.  One of the most iconic American phrases is “Who shot J.R.?”  In a tribute to Larry Hagman and a great honor to Kevin Page, Bum and J.R. collaborated in J.R.’s death and final revenge with Bum pulling the trigger.

The ultimate answer to who killed J.R. will always be Bum, played by Kevin Page in a brilliant performance.

A group of unknowing friends gathered at a modern home on Nonesuch Road, across the street from the Lakewood home of the late Stanley Marcus.

It was great fun to be at the viewing party of the final episode where beforehand Kevin Page made a very moving tribute to Larry Hagman, his acting genius, his kindness, and the fondness so much of the world had for him.
