Sir David Frost, with his signature red socks and English delivery, charmed the crowd with his humor and insights at the Brinker International Forum held at the Winspear Opera House in the Arts District of Dallas.  Sir David Frost, who interviewed Richard Nixon, compared notes with Frank Langella, who played Richard Nixon in the movie Frost/Nixon.

Country Creatures and Urban Comfort

This pastoral neighborhood of Dallas has its advantages and disadvantages.  Squirrels are a horrible nuisance if they are in one’s own house, but great fun to watch if they are in someone else’s house.  Here a 1907 Prairie style house is the home of this young squirrel family.

Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey Is Introduced to Russell Martin and the DeGolyer Library

Betsy Hailey, author of A Woman of Independent Means and other great works, came to Dallas to meet Russell Martin and to visit the DeGolyer Library.  The DeGolyer Library is the home of many great collections and papers, including works by prominent Dallas residents, like Stanley Marcus, and authors, such as Horton Foote.  What better way for Russell Martin and Pamalla Anderson, also with the library, to discuss the monumental role of the Forsythe and Hailey families and their contribution to Dallas and the arts than at Café Pacific on a spring day in Highland Park Village?

Pearl Cup Changes Tone of Henderson Avenue and East Dallas

Louie’s across the street has always been the destination point of Henderson Avenue.  Now Pearl Cup draws people from Highland Park, Preston Hollow, East Dallas and Uptown.  Interesting restaurants and modern shops soon followed.
